I’ve heard tales of beautiful elopements and destination weddings in Morocco. Its nature and cities are mystical and have always evoked strong mental images in me. In German, we call it Kopfkino (it directly translates to head cinema), a concept I absolutely love!  Imagine a city square with a charming market. Their air is infused by the smell of spices and peppermint tea. The surrounding buildings are embellished with their typical mosaic stones, surrounded by the calming shade of palm trees. Morocco is full of vibrant colours, tasty restaurants buzzing with life and surrounded by wild and astonishing nature. It is a dream playground for everyone who likes to explore. So much to see, so much to take in! Morocco will create colourful and vivid memories you will never forget. It’s the perfect place to elope in if you want to get a taste of new cultures with a delicious local kitchen and uncountable adventures to discover.

Eloping in one of the most stunning places on earth

If you are looking for a perfect location for your elopement, there are many beautiful places to choose from. Eloping in Morocco will leave you with a choice: Do you want to be in a vibrant and buzzing city or would you prefer a quiet and remote location? Luckily, the country has something on offer for everyone. Let Morocco enchant you with its very own magic!

Eloping in and around Marrakech

If you are after a romantic bohemian wedding or just want to enjoy a different culture to the fullest, this is an enjoyable destination. You can find many special places in and just outside of the city of Marrakesh. The city is the cultural centre of Morocco and is full of hidden gems. You can find vibrant colours, beautiful architecture, and a tasty snack in every corner.

A desert elopement in M’Hamid

If you are up for a real adventure, you can elope in the desert town of M’Hamid surrounded by cacti, camels and palm trees. The small oasis town is located on the edge of the Sahara desert and provides everything you need to feel excited far away from home. The Sahara desert is like a different planet. Explore big sand dunes on the back of a camel during the day and enjoy myriads of sparkling stars at night. The milky way will feel right at your fingertips.

Beach elopements in Morocco

If you are a beach babe or boy, Moroccan beaches will take your heart by storm. The port city of Essaouira offers plenty of empty beaches and lovely spots for a quiet ceremony. There are plenty of lovely venues with a stunning view of the harbour. The next day, you can find your very own adventure by playing in the waves or finding the best surf spots around.

What eloping in Morocco can look like

Make the most of your trip with a multi day wedding: Your elopement isn’t just about the ceremony, your trip should be one exciting big adventure. Morocco really is worth a visit that’s why you should stay a little longer. This is your time for a real experience: You and your favourite people in one of the most stunning places on earth. Don’t forget to plan in time to be thunderstruck by its beauty!

Day 1: The ceremony

Of course, this is what you are here for: The first day is all about your ceremony. Let’s give you an example of what the first day of your personal Morocco adventure could look like.

6:30 AM Rise before the sun

Watching the sunrise over the desert is absolutely magical. We recommend getting up early and be ready for your day! Luckily, sunrise won’t be too early and it’s very doable even if you don’t consider yourself an early bird. Of course, we would follow you around all day, making sure that you will have your precious memories captured in beautiful desert elopement pictures!

7:00 AM Drive out into the desert

It may take some time to get to some of the hidden gems in the desert, so it’s best to be generous with your planning. That’s how you guarantee a relaxed and fun day for everyone.

7:30 AM Get changed

Now it’s time to get festive! Put on your wedding dress and get ready for the big day. Of course, we will be there and assist you with any difficult zippers and help you both get set up. It’s the best time to start your day with some laughs and giggles.

8:00 AM Catch a look at the first beams of light

It’s stunning to see the first rays of sunlight kiss the tops of the desert sand dunes. While you can enjoy the beautiful spectacle, we will sneak in some first shots of the two of you.

8:30 AM Say your vows

Exciting! It is time to say your vows. Of course, the length and contents of the ceremony are depending on your personal preferences. If you have done the legal part at home already, this is the perfect opportunity to tell your partner how much they mean to you and what future you’d like to build together.

9:00 AM Celebration time

Let’s pop some bottles and celebrate the start of your new big adventure! This is when you can fully enjoy yourself, dance in the sand, or just sit together and enjoy the moment.

10:00 AM Have a picnic

What a day! How about a big picnic to finish off the celebrations? The Moroccan kitchen offers a wide range of tasty finger food, amazing spices and sugary pastry to start your day with. Imagine yourself on a colourful blanket somewhere in the desert exploring the culinary specialities of the place. Can it get any better?

11:30 AM Go for a drive through the desert

Time to explore! The desert has so much beauty to offer. You can spend the rest of your day in one of the beautiful desert camps enjoying a big lunch in one of the big Moroccan tents, shaded from the sun. Schedule a camel ride for the afternoon and go on a little adventure. For sunrise, we could take some amazing wedding pictures in the desert to make your day unforgettable!

Day 2:  Your adventure

The next day is just the right time for a full-blown adventure. Morocco has so much to explore. Its beautiful cities are full of beautiful restaurants, SPAs, and places to relax. However, if you want more thrill in your next day, you can find that for sure. How about canyoning? Climb down into remote canyons, cool down in deep rivers, and be surprised by lush greenery hidden away from the sun. Alternatively, the sand dunes are the perfect place for a fun day of sandboarding! Find your personal high in a hot air balloon and explore the place from a bird’s eye perspective - or climb up one of the beautiful mountains! The Moroccan beaches are famous for their wonderful surfing spots, good winds for kiting, and fun deep-sea diving. What is your favourite adventure activity?

Inspiration: Astonishing beach pictures in Morocco

I stayed in a little surfer village called Taghazout. We were on the hunt for some beautiful waves, driving around discovering the area. During that trip, I met Maike and Wouter from the Netherlands. I felt so happy to speak Dutch again! Together, we went to a place called Paradise Valley - I’m not gonna lie, it is a true paradise! Wild rocks are cut in half by a beautiful canyon. The water is turquoise blue and crystal clear, building a wonderful contrast to the orange rocks above it. Later, we went into a traditional Hamam. It was a very special experience. I thought it was a good idea to get a massage there. We all laid down on the wet floor and each of us got a rather strong woman to massage us. It was rather rough. With my face pressed against the floor, I was trying to embrace the intense treatment. However, this all led to a beautiful evening, where I ended up taking some couple pictures of Maike and Wouter. We spent the rest of the time surfing. I definitely want to go back to Morocco and discover more of this beautiful country.
